Woods Memorial Library 50th Anniversary Celebration

Celebrate 50 years at our family-friendly celebration! Take a trip down memory lane with a 60's car show and memory tree. Enjoy hula hoop lessons, bubble zone, book give-aways, crafts, and a live DJ spinning music from the era.

Activities will be begin at 2 pm:

2:00–2:20 pm

  • Listen to some special guest speakers, including Mr. George Woods, son of the Library's namesake G. Freeman Woods, as he shares memories of his father, his legacy as Tucson City Councilman, and his unwavering support of libraries.

2:30–4:00 pm

  • Go way back with Marge Pellegrino in a fun Memory Gathering workshop (2:30–3:00 pm).
  • Enjoy light refreshments.
  • Check out activity stations throughout the library and outside, including a Classic Car Show and DJ Ricky Washuk spinning some great hits of the 60s.
  • Don't miss the hula hoop contest, bubble making zone, and craft table!

If that's not enough, we'll have a book giveaway for teens and children, while supplies last, and a Saguaro Selfie station!
