Hey kids! Read to a therapy dog and have fun while improving your reading skills!
Read to a Dog is designed to allow kids to read to a nonjudgmental listener who will accept the story exactly as they read it. For many children, this is a rare chance to experience stress-free reading; they can relax and have fun while reading!
These elements increase a child's motivation to read, essential to becoming a successful reader.
Come read to Grace every Tuesday at 4:00 pm!
How does Read to a Dog work?
Kids come to the library during Read to a Dog and select a book to read to a furry friend. All dogs and handlers who participate have been certified as therapy dogs by an accredited organization.
