Loved, loved, loved this book. Some magical realism, fantastic character development, hard to put down. I read this and it left me wanting a sequel and recommending it to everyone I knew - especially if they are a fan of Latin America lit.

Really interesting book. I'd personally recommend it. Celia's pearl earrings is an interesting symbol.

Lots of santeria practices. One is constantly reminded of the human desire to "return home."

Best prose of the summer. Was difficult to read some parts on sexual abuse/attack or I would have given this book 5 stars.
