Beautiful. Quiet. Contemplative. Reflective. Very easy music to get lost in. No Christmas standards-or maybe just light hints of Christmas phrasing. Seemed seasonal to me - winter music maybe. Might be considered melancholy by some. Fireside - curl up music . The Cd I received from the library doesn't have a dust cover, but I don't think the song list matches the record description above. What I listened to was : 1. When The Snow Melts - Phil Cunningham; 2. Solus (Light) - Triona Ní Dhomhnaill; 3. On A Cold Winter's Day/Christmas Eve - Mìcheàl O'Domhnail ; 4. The Winter's End - Liam O'Flynn; 5. Ciara - Luka Bloom; 6. Nollaig Na m Ban (Women's Christmas, 6th January) - Cormac Breatnach; 7. Third Carol For Christmas Day - Maighread Ni Dhomhnaill; 8. Snow On High Ground - Nightnoise; 9. Galician Carol - Carlos Nunez; 10. Soillse Na Nollag (The Lights Of Christmas) - Altan; 11. King Holly, King Oak - Johnny Cunningham; 12. Snow - Loreena McKennitt; 13. We Follow A Star - Jeff Johnson. I think this is Windham Hill Sampler one. Maybe I should be commenting on that cd instead.
