A santera is a woman who creates artistic images of holy personages, often of the saints. These artists are traditionally men (Santeros). Santa Fe's Spanish Market is one of the few places Santeras display their work. Santeras Marie Romero Cash, Guadalupita Ortiz, Gloria Lopez Cordova, and Monica Sosaya Halford discuss their art, their creativity and spirituality being interconnected and their art's impact on generations of family. The Art of the santera exhibit is housed at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe.
