Audiobook heaven? I’ve found mine.

With a slow beginning, a frustrating middle, and an exciting end, Nix's Lirael is a two-book arc (which I didn't know) that takes place a couple of decades after Sabriel. It concerns a new rising threat against the old kingdom, the emergence of a new Abhorsen and introduces us to a new Charter family called the Clayr. In terms of personality, I definitely found Lirael more fleshed out, and though I found her self-pity a little annoying, I thought her brave, and courageous. Sameth could still use a little work. I'm still not seeing a prince/king that he is supposed to be but there's lots of opportunities to grow. Things finally picked up when Sameth and Lirael joined forces (about 60-70% into the book) and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

Plus, we've got a Disreputable Dog along with Mogget now which is awesome! Those two are the best
