This novel is less intriguing than the others in The Cat Who series, really not much of a mystery. In fact, Qwill’s mustache doesn’t twitch much in this one. It is still enjoyable for its tales of Pickax County and the little squabbles among its residents. If you are a fan of George Guidall, the series’ narrator, and Barbara Rosenblat – I love her Mrs. Pollifax audio contributions – you get a treat at the end, when Guidall as Qwill interviews the Cat Who author Lilian Jackson Braun, who is voiced by Rosenblat.
