Hilarious and wonderful--Excellent ensemble acting.

Adorable. Genius. Amazing. An impeccably-cast work of comic art.

A bittersweet comedy with a flawless cast. Simultaneous laughter and tears!

It's all great--the ensemble cast, writing, music, family dysfunction and, especially, how the family pulls together for each other when needed. The movie is rated R for language as well as some sex and drug content.

A dysfunctional family (each family member has their own form of dysfunction) goes on a road trip together to a kiddie beauty pageant the youngest family member has qualified for. Over the course of the trip they learn to put asside their differences and come together as a family. I'm sure that result could have been accomplished with much less course language and sexual innuendo and I wish it would have!

Was this really up for best picture? Really? The filmmakers merge two totally hackneyed indie staples (wacky dysfunctional family with find yourself road trip) in a way that suggests they've just dicovered it. The road is paved with cliches (oh, a moody teen who reads Nietzsche!) and goofy gags (stealing a body) that would work better in "Vacation," which this movie is essentially a better bred version of. Alan Arkin and Steve Carrell both find the soul beneath the shallow writing and the girl is cute, but this is one of the most shameless, overrated movies of 2007. For those who think "Garden State" and "Napoleon Dynamite" embody indie filmmaking.

Another one of those movies where I realize after 5 to 10 minutes that I'm not going to be into it. So I can't give much of a review other than that. There wasn't much more than one little chuckle in the opening minutes and i could just tell that it wasn't really very funny or interesting, though it had potential.

The movie was funny and the little girl did a great job. The grandfather in all his wisdom could've lost the profanity. Just goes to show what people have to do when they don't have and what borderlines trailer trash.

It is able to work as a drama and as a comedy. There are good performances from Steve Carell, Paul Dano, Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette, and Alan Arkin.

A charming and heartwarming story of failure, family, and human resilience—Richard says it all here: “Losers are people who are so afraid of not winning, they don’t even try.” No one in this story wins, but it’s not for lack of trying.

Violence: There wasn't any violence in the movie, however I think it should be noted that there was a character who attempted suicide before the movie began. And another character abused drugs and ultimately died as a result.

Sexual Content: The only remotely sexual content were the covers of three adult magazines and a suggestive dance. No overt nudity or sexual scenes were present.

Coarse Language: Plenty of swearing, particularly from the grandfather, who seemed especially enamored of the f-word.

Olive: Grandpa, am I pretty?
Grandpa: You are the most beautiful girl in the world.
Olive: You're just saying that.
Grandpa: No! I'm madly in love with you and it's not because of your brains or your personality.
