Virtually defines "camp." A note before the movie says they used the best archival materials they could find to make the DVD. Unfortunately, those materials were dreck. The picture is smeary and the color's faded. Loren does the role in blackface -- reminds me a lot of Crawford in "Torch Song" -- particularly embarrassing since they use actual black actors in the movie. The Triumphal March is, well, sparse. I mean, we're not talking "Cleopatra" here. This is the perfect movie for a bunch of opera fans to party with -- as long as they're not pretentious twits who think that since it's opera, it's automatically "art."
