In the glamorous and ego-driven world of advertising, everyone is selling something and nothing is ever what it seems. Set in 1960 New York, this series reveals the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue's "Golden Age," where key players make an art of the sell while their private world gets sold. And no one plays the game better than Don Draper, the biggest ad man, and ladies' man, in the business.

The Handmaid’s Tale, 2017

I was fortunate enough to catch a preview for the upcoming The Handmaid's Tale miniseries adaptation. The novel's often assigned in high school and college literature and women's studies classes. Unlike a lot of dystopian fiction, it focuses on the little details of everyday life, rather than technological and plot machinations. Jon Draper is an opportunist and philanderer, but other than that, he isn't bad. Interesting that the best characters in this series are all women ...

This is good only if you fast forward through all home scenes because they are excruciatingly terrible and painfully boring!
I learned very quickly that only the office scenes, and occasionally the bar scenes are worth watching.

A fantastic series. I don't like the hour-long drama, and yet I have watched this show for each and every season, devouring it. What does that tell you? It simply transcends the format for me. This first season is a great introduction and the characters are like people; they may not have existed as Peggy and Don and Betty and Joan and Roger and Pete, but they did exist a little bit here and there at that time. Nobody is a "good guy" or a "bad guy"; they're just people. This show is wonderful in so many ways, I can't begin to outline all of them. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't started watching this series to start immediately. You'll love it; you'd be "mad" not to watch!

I hadn't seen the first season of Mad Men until sat down to watch it on DVD. I loved it. I really loved the establishment of the main characters. Excellent show.

Mad men - an advertising series is an interesting show which focuses on the sixties era. How men were in charge and the women taken second lead. The work environment, the dress, the cars etc. is very interesting to see how it was in the 1960s.
