I really liked this book. Lots of excellent info that is backed up by the loads of other similar books I have been reading lately. For those who cant afford to go to a naturopath or integrative physician, there is enough guidance in this book to make changes to improve overall health and brain health.

This book is excellent!!! I highly recommend it if you are having issues of depression, anxiety, etc. I picked up this book after suffering a debilitating panic attack. Through proper nutrition, and adding recommended supplements, my anxiety disappeared. This book gave me the mental boost I needed. It really explains the effects of putting non-healthy foods in our bodies. Pretty much the North Ametican diet as we all know it.

I had to return this book before I had finished reading it, I ran out of time. Excellent description of how the brain functions at a cellular level. I found it fascinating, and will take it out again to continue reading about his plan for healthy living.

Ok, I was not impressed by this book at all. It's thick and from a doctor so you think you will get some value. For me, not the case. Just a lot of stories of this "clients" who were "fixed" by his method (pretty much a food intake detox, with heavy reliance on adding nutrients back in via tablets). After reading his claims about clients, I was like, "Liar liar pants on fire." Doing a diet detox and readding foods back in to see what the reactions are -- this is a good thing. This is not a cure all. Particularly for something as serious as mental illness. You can't fix dyslexia with a food detox; same goes for any other mental illness. Maybe make it not as severe, but that was NOT his claim.

Not what I need right now but a good choice for the future, if needed. :)

I started out *really* liking this book. Everything he said in the first chapter sounded true to me -- the need to fix problems at their source rather than just treat symptoms, and the importance of caring well for the body to affect the brain.

Then I downloaded his companion guide from the internet (as he asks you to do in the book) and it became clear that a *large* part of this book is selling his supplements. And the whole thing began to sound like a big commercial. I gave up on it.
