This was an interesting way of relating prehistory in the form of a scientifically informed narrative, but not an historical narrative. Its story is plausible and remarks on all of the things that early people would have had to deal with, though it didn't talk too much about food gathering and disease very much. It briefly mentioned - in 30 seconds - which animals were domesticated and where, but it didn't say anything about the processes or their transmission to other societies.

Ehhh... it's more like a movie about beginning society without a lot of learning. I kind of expected more to be honest.
I still enjoyed it, but more "history" would have been preferred.

I agree with the review by "Samtuma' (see below). This pseudo-documentary claims that people settled down and formed towns/cities while still in a hunter/gatherer phase. Clearly impossible ! View this film with a critical eye (if at all !). It is NOT up to contemporary documentary standards.

Very well done movie. A pleasure to watch. I would recommend this movie for all to see. No fast forwarding on this one.

I expected a movie that would tell how humans developed. This movie started out by saying that humans stopped wandering and settled down when they found groups of people that had already settled. The movie continued on in this fashion saying that people discovered new things when they found people that were already doing them. It was not a very informative documentary, very sub-par for Nat Geo.
