Librarians enjoy being geeky, too

This article by Children's Librarian Mary Elder was originally published in the Arizona Daily Star on November 29, 2015. I was a librarian at Harelson Elementary School in the Amphitheater Public Schools for six years, and it was a phenomenal experience. My time working there quickly revealed that I have a passion for working with kids and books, which led to my decision to go back to the… (more)

I absolutely loved Maze Runner, it's probably my favourite book series now. It's really exciting, super intriguing cliffhangers, and, in my opinion, it doesn't get boring. I would totally reccomend this book, it's amazing.

I loved this book so much as well as the other books (not including kill order). I fell in love with the plot, story line, and characters. Was quite sad do see the series end. But this will always be my favourite series. In my opinion the books were way better than the three movies. My Favourite character would have to be newt, even know hes a side character / one of the three main characters (Thomas, Minho, and newt...) he brings so much care and support for the gladers. I highly suggest this book series to mostly everyone!

This is one of those books that you can't put down. There are so many mysteries and weird things in this book so you have to read to the end to find everything out. With people losing their memory, Grievers (weird, creepy, half-robot monster), etc, this book is kind of creepy but great at the same time. This was a great read.

Probably my all-time favourite book series now. I love the action and the exciting adventure yet mystery and kind of a thriller. I really felt attached to the characters. I recommend this book to teens (12+) who love fantasy and action.

This book was an adventure for me. Now, I also use the words that the Gladers used in the book like shuck and klunk. I recommend this to readers ages 11+. I think it has a beautiful way of explaining and showing suspense and action. I'll definitely add this to my favorites list!!! 💘👌

I actually liked the movie better than the book. Don't come after me with your pitchforks! That never happens!

I finished reading the whole maze runner series and they were all so good. The only reason i gave this book a 4.5 is because the whole plot line of the book is pretty slow. All the action and suspense happens at the end of the book. Most of the book is just Thomas adjusting into the maze. But, the ending is amazing so much happens to Thomas so fast! (I won't spoil it)

"Shouldn't someone give a pep talk or something?" Minho asked, pulling Thomas's attention away from Alby.
"Go ahead," Newt replied.
Minho nodded and faced the crowd. "Be careful," he said dryly. "Don't die."

"Great. We're all bloody inspired," Newt answered.

For the first time, he felt something for Chuck that made him so angry he wanted to kill somebody. The boy should be in school, in a home, playing with neighbourhood kids. He deserved to go home at night to a family who loved him, worried about him. A mom who made him take a shower every day and a dad who helped him with his homework.
Thomas hated the people who'd taken this poor, innocent kid from his family. He hated them with a passion he didn't even know a human could feel. He wanted them dead, tortured, even. He wanted Chuck to be happy.
But happiness had been ripped from their lives. *Love* had been ripped from their lives.

*Some spoilers* Crazy whacked out idea but I loved the wild ride of reading this story. So many twists and unexpected revelations in the book. The main character is trying to find answers to who the good guys are and what has happened to his world as we try to figure it all out with him. It is set in the future where mankind needs saving from a horrible disaster that has turned humans into monsters. Now scientists use children to figure out how to save the human race. Great book!

He thought it was just a dream at first, but he never woke up. Thomas is stuck in a life sized maze with only one way in and one way out. Just as he was beginning to get used to it a new girl shows up. This would't be a problem but you see she is the only girl. After that things began to get weird so Thomas and any friends he has must find a way out before it's to late.
