This is a cool hip book for those just starting out. I loved the different spins on relishes (one for beets and one for fennel) Definitely a fun alternative to the usual run of the mill canning material out there.

The content is very good, but the true selling point of this book is its visual aspect. The photographs are gorgeous, the step by step instructions are accompanied by helpful images, and the layout is creative and fun.

Comprehensive explanations for the beginner. For those who are experienced, many of the recipes include fresh herbs, which would change our old stand-bys and give us ideas about different herbs, perhaps, to use.
