A well rounded documentary of composer Philip Glass. The subtitle for this film about Philip Glass could have been "a year in the life of". But the word portrait does come to mind when viewing as one gets to see over the year of filming Glass the wide range of his creative endeavor and impact his life and music have had both in the classical music world and composing music for film. My interest in music meant that I gave more consideration to his professional composing/performing life as I viewed this film. But those interested in his personal life and relationships with family and close friends/teachers/mentor/life coaches will find this movie satisfying to watch too as the filmmaker tactfully brings to light the personal side of this creative genius.
