I must concur with pretty much all the preceding comments: this is a wonderfully astute and yes, inspiring, little book for the creative types among us--or anyone, really--about what truly matters in this life. The cartoons that punctuate the chapters are amusing, some of them laugh-out-loud funny, if a bit chauvinistic.
I truly wish I had come to it sooner (as in much, much earlier in my life) but I'm grateful for Mr. MacLeod's witty insights nevertheless.

And I will definitely check out his blog, gapingvoid.com!

Fantastic book for writers, business and education

Basically agree with much of what's said below. I breezed through in a couple of days and felt inspired. Terrific for creative types & self-starters. I'm pretty surprised he's gotten as much attention as he has with his artwork, but that in itself is inspiring: there's an audience for everyone, I guess! Some of the cartoons were clever, but there was a good dose of machismo in there too.

The author gives practical advice in a concise and humorous way. His keys to creativity can also be applied to life in general. For example, "The best way to get approval is not to need it." and "You have to find your own schtick." This is a fast and easy read, but the advice is great.
For me the business card artwork didn't add to the book, but the graphics aren't intrusive so if they don't appeal to the reader, they can be skipped.

Easy read. Curious and satisfying blend of optimistic and pragmatic. Clear and concise. Worth a looksee for those thinking about where creativity and cash meet.

Funny and inspiring, with a side of snark - I loved this!

Absolutely fascinating! Instead of reading a book that says, "Here is how I did it, and you must follow" this is a book that helps the reader break new ground. Well written, short and straight to the point.

Great Book. Inspirational. Motivated me to start creating again. Short and sweet read.
