Clear-thinking, savvy, observant, awake, and relevant. Some of the material is so painfully glaring that it's almost bizarre that folks in the red states and conservatives, by and large, don't seem to pick up on the ironies (and often hypocrisies, etc), even if it is for their own benefit, as the subject that they should be discussing, first and foremost, like Maher's dissection of Joe the Plumber. Despite some penetrating and sobering commentary, he makes it so effortless to listen to and process, all the while being uproariously hilarious. Terrific stuff, applause.

You're right, Bill. I wonder if you are resentful that you've been forced to learn about other people's insane-o whacko religions. I resent the fact that I have to become an expert on other people's insane beliefs - just because there are a few billion of them in the world - and I can't really function in the world unless I tune into their freakazoid wavelength and trains of thought. Just because a lot of people believe something doesn't mean it's true, does it? The world isn't flat; it's a round orb that revolves around the sun. Good to be in a time and place so advanced that at least we aren't being stoned to death for proclaiming those facts.

Maher: "This is what they do [Rush Limbaugh, extreme conservatives]. They get people to vote against their own interest [Joe the Plumber, who was unemployed as he objected to then-Senator Obama's, during his presidential bid, proposed income tax increase of 3% for those annually making $250,000 and above]."
