This book went absolutely nowhere! I feel I wasted several days reading it.
Re some of the characters: Ellen is sex-crazed, Miles lives in guilt and tries not to better his situation, Bing is insecure but stubborn, Morris is spineless, and on and on. I don’t understand the fascination with the book, especially the continual and shallow references to sex.
Not on my list of “Must Read”s.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and the plot held my interest. I wish the ending had cleared up a few details. It left me hanging. Did Miles turn himself in? Does Willa come back? Does Pilar come to New York? Maybe there will be a sequel. Hopefully.

My first read by Paul Auster and probably my second favorite by him, with The Book Of Illusions being first. Such Interesting characters and an amazing plot.

An enjoyable read. The author has written this book in a narrative voice. The ending was a little disappointing.

Very interesting format on the writing. Great cast of characters, good read.

"A tale of redemption and love: a man who banishes himself and is destined to return from where he ran. I wish most books were written by Paul Auster."
- Gavin Rossdale
