Their version of Spacex with prize money.
Sigh. Won't be long history repeats itself & spacecraft get armed.
Still it was a rip-roaring story & hero did a gallant act.

This was just a little boring for me, the story was a bit dull.

I enjoy the history in these novels how ever I must confess I skim over the parts where Bell puts on his Superman cape & does the impossible! I enjoyed learning about the early aero planes in this novel.

The Race --- by Clive Cussler with Justin Scott. There’s a reason they call a novel like this a thriller. It,s because the action comes fast and furious. The year is 1910 and there’s a continent-spanning airplane race to be won. Sabotage, murder, plane crashes and dastardly criminals all figure in the story. And most importantly there’s Josephine, the aviatrix who is America’s odds-on favorite to win and Isaac Bell, detective par-excellence who is charged keeping her safe and sound. Like all of Cussler’s novels this one too virtually reads itself. Amusing, entertaining and, oh yes, thrilling.

This is the fourth book of this series...and I really enjoyed it. The historical themes are fascinating! I recommend reading them in the order in which they were written. It helps with the character development.

I disagree with previous comment. It did have lots of terms but C.C. Made it easy to understand so everybody understands them. It had lots of adventure as usual for C.C. Great plot nd learned lots about flying.
