I looooooved this book. Her descriptions of food are mouth-watering, and the story of her family is super interesting. I only wish there were photos included, as so many of the dishes were unfamiliar to me. I will definitely have to spend some time Googling around to learn more.

An interesting book that just brings me back to Singapore....as many ppl says that SGP is defined by not only by its ppl but also by its foods from many cultures. Bak Zhang, tang yuan, mee siam, kaya, popiah, salted veg and duck soup, mooncakes, otak-otak, CNY dishes like pineapple tarts...and not to forget the famous Hainanese chicken rice...
