The skeptical commenter obviously didn't read the book. Plenty of scientific references, all of which are easily corroborated with further online research.

Just because you're used to pill formed medicines does not mean that other plants and minerals are not also medicines. Check out a book of traditional remedies from the Victorian era. They work.
