He awakened a need within her.

Cole is successful beyond his dreams. He can have any woman he wants, but there’s only one he can’t stop thinking about: his childhood sweetheart, Renita. He’s never forgotten his first taste of innocent love and the desire that consumed them—or the pain he brought upon her…

But now she belongs to another…

Her long-ago brush with submission awakened a longing in Ren that drove her to walk the darker edge of desire. She has become a beautiful woman at ease with her sexuality and unapologetic about her need for a dominant man. When Cole finds her again, he’s gutted that she belongs to another. Ren’s current master agrees to give her to Cole for a short time, but then she must return to his keeping. And though Cole agrees to this bargain, he knows he will never be able to let Ren go again…

Worst book of the series. Wondering if Maya Banks can continue the series without the Cole/Lucas/Ren triangle. I liked Cole better before this book certainly! Now, not so much.

"Cole Renita and Lucas is not a good match...not together. The 3 way scenes between them felt forced. their 1 on 1 time with her was better... especially between Renita and Cole that was hot and steamy. The two main characters should have been Cole and Renita, they had a past...Lucas should have gotten is own story. I didn't like the 2 dominant male being apart of a love triangle. What was Maya Banks thinking? What a mess. Hey jcharmed my BF down below, true LOVE never dies honey ! Reuniting old flame can be very very hottttttttt. First of all why did you think Lucas gave her to Cole for 2 weeks? here is why she saw the man she still have love for, her old flame, her first love and after that she wasn't her normal self. Lucas saw that Cole still had a hold on her and thought that he would give them 2 weeks to tie up loose ends and blow off some steam...but what he did was open a can of desire between those two. You think all the tears over Lucas was because she was in love with him at that time? she and Lucas had a arrangement.Yes he care about her. come on lady's, she was crying because she thought Lucas didn't want her anymore...and he was dumping her on Cole. I would cry too if I think I was being used again. she care for Lucas I get it...but after living with him for a year it takes another man banging you 6 ways from here to next Sunday...for you to realized you love him. The year Ren and Lucas spent together wasn't added to the story... its not like we read about their time together...it doesn't count. with that said Cole had more scenes with Ren. the story was mostly about them. yes I agree Luc was mention a lot during their time together. She did the same with Lucas they talk about Cole. I hope I didn't give much of the story away. I had to get this off my chest. It was killing me LOL! I love me some hot doms but I don't think I can take these 2 on every day that is a lot of work LOL! hahahahaha!

I agree; thought the story would have more focus on Cole and Ren eventually reclaiming what they'd once had. But it seemed more focused on Lucas, no matter who the section of the book was supposedly focused on. As always, Maya Banks writes steamy sex scenes!

I really do not know how to rate this.
If this was Lucas' story then yea is was really good but looking at this relationship as Cole's story then not so hot. The sex was hot, as always but Cole only got 2 weeks with Ren and the whole time it was about Lucas. I did not buy into her love for Cole. Her love for him was as kids but it was all about Lucas from beginning to end.
