This book reads so much like fiction, I thought it was a novel until I took the time to read the description about a third of the way through! It really moves along. I could relate to a lot of what she had to say. Her writing is entertaining and inspiring.

"Former Mennonite Rhoda Janzen, now an enthusiastic member of a Pentecostal congregation thanks to her "manly man" born-again boyfriend, details the changes in her life in an upbeat tone that will appeal to chick lit fans. Some serious downers have confronted her since her bestselling first memoir, Mennonite in a Little Black Dress - including divorce and inoperable breast cancer. Not giving in to these challenges, she meets them head-on with cheerfulness and effervescent humour. Serious matters, including her cancer, the nature of faith, her growing relationship with God, and prayer find expression in this "vibrant, charming narrative" (Publishers Weekly) that will engage anyone interested in contemporary spiritual memoirs." This is one of the best books I have ever read. Witty, and beautiful honest, Janzen speaks candidly of her struggles through cancer and finding and an life of active faith. She is inspiring, brilliant, and Laugh out Loud funny.

Really enjoyed this book. Not preachy at all, and interesting characters. Very positive without being too Pollyanna.

I read this book because I found the title intriguing. Janzen is a crack-up and she makes some cogent points about personal faith and organized religion. She also has some searing comments about breast cancer! Mostly it's a great love story about a woman who surprises herself and winds up happy!
