hate the parents, love the plot

The cover of this book is deceiving. While the book is written on a simple level, it isn't nearly as childish as the cover makes it appear. It's a cute book about a girl whose parents cannot see that their dreams for her are making her miserable. Poppy's friends come to her rescue when she gets stuck in a deep depression. It's very cutely written, and highly enjoyable. The theme - that every child needs to be raised in their own way, not just in the most glorious one - is very important.
