As a fan of The Mortal Instruments, and Cassandra Clare, I really enjoyed this thoughtful collection of essays on the book series. The essayists are all accomplished writers, and they cover a range of topics about The Mortal Instruments' world, it's resonation in our world, and why certain aspects of the story have profound meaning.

Fan-love aside, I found the essays to be well-written, thoughtful, and amusing. They definitely made me want to join this league of amazing writers, or at least discuss literature with them!

I highly recommend this reader to anyone who is a fan of the Mortal Instruments series- but beware, if you haven't read all 5 published books yet, there ARE spoilers in here.
