This hour-long film is a tribute to Ken Campbell, Nina Conti’s mentor, friend and past love. It is quirky and provides a peek inside the art of ventriloquism and its community. I recognize that it is probably redundant to say that something that relates to ventriloquism is quirky. Conti and her puppet Monkey were in the cast of Family Tree, Christopher Guest's short-lived HBO series.

Interesting, 'artsy' film which follows Nina Conti (daughter of actor Tom Conti), an accomplished writer and ventriloquist from London England to a ventriloquists' convention in Kentucky. There she will leave one of the puppets bequeathed to her by her mentor.

Definitely a personal journey for Nina but amusing as well, if sometimes in a rather quirky way.

We loved it.

I never did understand why anyone would choose to be a ventriloquist, and after watching this I still fail to see the allure. Still, the personal journey is an interesting one.
