Can Tintaglia and the Elderlings unlock the secrets of the ancient city? Or are they doomed to extinction?

The world of Robin Hobb’s Rain Wilds series has been praised by Booklist as "one of the most gripping settings in modern fantasy," and Publishers Weekly called the Rain Wilds books "a meticulously realized fantasy tale" and "a welcome addition to contemporary dragon lore."

In this installment of the Rain Wilds Chronicles the action really picks up midbook and plunges with dizzying speed onward as the dragons mature, the keepers become elderlings, various villains descend on Kelsingra, and ethical decisions become gray and grey. This is Hobb, and we wouldn't have her any other way.

I encourage you to read the first books in the Rain Wilds Chronicles before you pick up this one. We learn more about the people created to care for the dragons as well as crawl further into the dragon psyche. Complex, intriguing and wonderful.
