According to Amazon, this is the biography of Queen Victoria, written by the famous Bloomsbury author Lytton Strachey. Written only 20 years after Victoria's death, he knew many of the Queen's friends himself. I expect it's not a researched biography, but one the author actually lived. Certainly worth a look. Mr. Strachey's most famous work is Eminent Victorians, a collection of sardonic and funny small portraits of four "eminent Victorians," including Florence Nightingale.
