Forced, unconvincing plot. Telegraphed story line. Purports to be a mystery, but “who done it” was never in doubt. Clumsy construction. A generally bad book.

The first Baker Street brother book was great, and I eagerly awaited the second, and that book was pretty good, but not up to the first. This one, Moriarty Returns Letter, you should just bypass. The first couple of chapters are entertaining but then it's as if the author grew bored with his writing. I certainly grew bored with the story, and irritated with the characters. Don't bother with this one, just remember how good the first one was.

I just recently got into Sherlock Holmes thanks to the BBC series (which is why I read this book). This is a quick read with a decent story line. A mystery that wasn't too taxing for my summer pool-side reading.
