She's shaken and haunted by the image of the lifeless young woman, and frightened that the killer, still at large, could strike again. Before long, the police have a lead. The evidence points to a very clear suspect. One Gaby never saw coming . . . Full of twists and turns, this is a dark and suspenseful psychological thriller that will make you second guess everything. Add a Commentvery hard book to read. Just way too wordy and the chapters/ days of the week were too long.
Story line was fine. The ending was when it got better...
"Out on a run one day, London TV presenter Gaby Mortimer discovers a body -- and touches it before the police arrive. Soon she's got both the police and the media after her, while her already emotionally distant husband retreats physically (to Singapore!), and her job is given to a younger woman. With plenty of tension, a traumatised and complex main character, and a similar perspective to many of Lisa Unger's novels (especially the ones starring writer Ridley Jones), this debut should satisfy Unger's many fans. If you enjoy it, look for the author's next book, Remember Me This Way." I just couldn't get into this book. Took it back the next day :(
Fantastic twisty thriller. Could not put it down & can't wait to see what she writes next. A rare book where the ending was not obvious from the beginning. Like Gone Girl, but even better
I LOVED this book, very twisty, loved the ending. great read.
