My two favorite Charles together again, de Lint and Vess. This is a young person's fairytale adventure but really does fantasy have an age level? I enjoy this story immensely. Any lover of the spirits of the land will enjoy this and many of de Lints "urban fantasies". This could be considered a prequel to "Medicine Road".

In this sequel to the Cats of Tanglewood Forest, Sarah Jane has no idea that the wounded man she discovers in the forest is about to ensnare her in a longtime war between rival magical clans. When her six sisters are kidnapped she needs help. Especially because her youngest sisters are – well – basically brats. This is fantasy at its best, filled with mystery and magic, and a test, a quest, and the best of heroines.
