This book started out really fun and entertaining. And then it promptly crashed. Mainly due to the incompetence of the heroine. Why are females written to be impulsive and sensless creatures who are constantly trying to prove a point to society? The performance of the female lead in this book was very annoying, EXTREMELy annoying, want-to-slap-her-face annoying! I hate it when authors create such silly characters! I will say that the male lead in this book was charming. At least that helped to earn the book three stars.

A very enjoyable story set in 1908 Iowa. Romance, arson, lawyers, and Hello girls. : )
