This is what I wanted the first volume to be.

Phil Noto's artwork is still visually stunning. I love everything from the red in Natasha's hair to the way he draws the rain. I love the palettes and how I reread each page just to look at the art again. I loved seeing so many people from Natasha's past -- I won't ruin who features, because part of the joy of my reading experience was discovering who was going to help her next.

The last few lines of this graphic novel really won it for me. Finally, I thought, Edmonson gets Black Widow, he understands her and her inner thoughts, which is something so rewarding to read.

I will definitely continue with the next volume. I hope it only gets better.

Very happy I borrowed this. It reminds me somewhat of Bendis' run on Daredevil when Bendis was not filling every panel up with words but gave the stories great pacing, moving them along and keeping them interesting and being economical with dialogue. I'm looking forward to reading the first volume of this series.
