I was not impressed with the first book, Dualed. For one, I didn't care much for the main character, West, and had a hard time identifying with her. For another, and more importantly, the author seemed to neglect any substantial world building that could help the reader understand why Kersh was the way it was.

With that being said, I threw those complaints away when I started to read Divided, trying to wipe the slate clean, as they say. Therefore, ignoring the faults of Dualed, its sequel is okay. West is, at least, easier to like, and the reader feels a little more invested in her having once read about how she overcame the events of Dualed. There are also some answers to the world building dilemma, though not enough in my opinion. I didn't dislike this book as much as its predecessor, but it's nothing to write home about.

I loved this book! I hope they make movies for this series. It's one of the best books I've ever read! Very exciting with romance that doesn't overpower the story, like some books I've read.
