I have seen this book, “How Not to Die”, circulate a lot through my library and never put too much thought into reading it - that is, not until the clock was ticking down. I work in the library system and also have a degree in nutrition and dietetics. I needed many continuing education units to maintain my registration in a short amount of time, I must confess. Life happens. Through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, I found the same title that I have seen so often. I was sure glad that this well written and researched book was at my library. The author/narrator made it easy listening. It reveals that many diseases and ailments in America are because of lifestyle choices. The book is over 500 pages however; about 140 pages are references or supplements. Do not blindly trust the manufacturers creating food for us, believing it is all good for us. Read the labels and fine print - consume five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day. You could very well help prevent your death before its time. “How Not to Die” is one of the best nutrition and diet books I have ever listened to/read!
