It took weeks for me to get through the first half of the book, and an afternoon to get through the last half. This is not the book for you If you're bothered by inconsistent details: the evidence markers are white on black, then they're black on white; his wife's eyes are the color of faded jeans, then he's losing himself in her big brown eyes. The last half is a fun read, but for me Grisham has this beat by miles!

The author throws a lot of balls in the air and manages to keep all of them going - mostly. Too many coincidences that save the day, dropped in at regular intervals, strain credulity. Some of the many plot twists remain murky and left hanging in air. Otherwise, an enjoyable mystery/thriller.

Kirkus: A fast-moving British legal thriller filled with tension and surprises. For fans of Grisham.

One of the best mystery books I have in a very long time - recommend to all who like John Grisham's books
