I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love Molly Murphy Sullivan, even if it is impossible to believe that someone like her lived during this time period. She is so much smarter than all of the police, and takes such chances with her health and safety! This book had a great plot, and I did not figure it out before Molly did. This is a very enjoyable series, and should be read in order.
This book started out okay then kind of dragged for awhile. Some of the details regarding the way the villain killed Dr. Werner and took over his identity make me wonder how he did it. Did he bother to change clothes with him and if he didn't, didn't anyone notice that. At the end of the book it seemed like the author was in a big hurry to finish the book. I have always enjoyed this author but was a bit disappointed in her last 2 books
This is a wonderful mystery set in turn of the century (1905) New York City. There are lots of twists and turns as Molly indiscreetly (?) helps her husband, police captain, Daniel hunt down clues that link several murders -- whether he likes it or not. I chose the wrong character as the killer twice and until the end the story kept me guessing. I know I am starting on the 14th Molly Murphy Mystery, so I am going to have to backtrack, but will have a great summer catching up!
Another great mystery in this series. I love how Bowen works real incidents and characters in history into her plots. Very enjoyable.

Rhys Bowen has worked into her plot an historical incident--a train wreck--for this Molly Murphy adventure. She also weaves in Freud's theories about dreams. Molly has a recurring dream after she is in the train wreck with Liam. Gus Walcott is asked to interpret the dreams of a 14 year old girl, Mabel, after her parents are killed in a house fire. Since her mother-in-law and Bridie (a pretend daughter from her escape to America) are tending to Liam, Molly and Daniel's year old son, Molly helps with the investigation Daniel is conducting into a series of murders as well as the accusation of Mabel as her parents' killer. Molly, of course, finds the common threads that unravel both mysteries.
