Tommy and Tuppence may not be as popular as Poirot and Miss Marple, but their stories have been adapted for the screen as well.

As much as I like Walliams as an actor and storyteller, I was disappointed with his acting here. The first episode was pretty dry, and I did not care to carry on watching further, so I shut it off.

This series was very much reminded me of something done in early years of television. I liked that the violence drama was not grim or gory. The acting wasn't the greatest. I found it entertaining to a fault. It's hard to tell where the fault lies in the story line. I'd hazard a guess that it may have been at the hands of an inexperienced director. This series would be too slow in today's standards, but I enjoyed it. You'll need to judge it for yourself!

Rated 4/10. The 1st story, on disc 1, was okay, but the 2nd one on disc 2 was awful. The words 'inane' and 'daft' come to mind.

Thank heavens there is no more than the one series.

Not recommended.

Awful. Absolutely awful. I just don't understand how you can 'adapt' a novel and change pretty much everything about it. Equally, I assume Walliams had never been anywhere near the books since his portrayal of Tommy was pathetic. The Tuppence character was somewhat better, but not by a lot. Was really looking forward to this series, but just ended up massively disappointed.

The Partners in Crime series from 1983, with Francesca Annis and James Warwick, is wonderful by the way. It stays true to the novels and the chemistry between the leads in adorable. Watch that series every time!

This tries to be humorous and suspenseful yet fails to deliver on both. The main characters are so clueless that any intelligence they gather seems to just fall into their laps. The 1st case (eps 1-3) is OK, the 2nd (eps 4-6) is awful.

So disappointed in this! Tuppence has gone from being a plucky flapper, to a dutiful 1950s housewife. Tommy seems to me incredibly miscast. The earlier series version with Francesca Annis just sparkled. This one was lacking in any humour, and dull. I didn't finish it.

The plot and timeline no longer resembles the books, they've picked out bits and pieces and blended them all together to make a mystery hash that makes no sense. I liked the casting but that's about it.

No chemistry between the 2 main characters. And it may be that the husband has a personality, but it was not noticeable here. The plot is disjointed and often makes no sense at all.
Give it a miss.

High quality production but the constant twists are not well-plotted, and frankly, the couple makes so many mistakes it's a wonder they're not killed (not very believable). There are some cute moments and the sleuthing emphasis of trusting your intuition. It may be that the director, coming from a theater background, has staged this series more along those lines, with characters entering and exiting.
