A boy plays hide and seek with his elephant (who's very good, by the way). The illustrations allow the reader to look for the elephant while the boy is seeking in the story. Fun to share together.

Have you ever played hide and seek with an elephant? When an elephant asks a young boy to play, he says, “I must warn you though. I’m very good.” The young boy replies, “I’ll try my best.” And so starts the game of hide and seek! While elephant continues to hide all over the house and outside, the young boy and his dog continue their search. The story is filled with happiness and hidden treasures. Children will enjoy counting while the elephant hides. 1, 2, 3…The illustrations are filled with beautiful splashes of orange, yellow, purples and more. When a turtle joins the game and asks if they want to play tag, off they go! Children will enjoy the familiar games of hide and seek and tag. Beginning readers will appreciate the elephant’s expert disguises in winning the game. Do you see the elephant’s trunk?

Excellent for a participatory read-aloud, since readers can count to 10 as Elephant "hides" and then try to spot him along with the main character. And when Tortoise shows up at the end, readers will get a good laugh when they find out that his favorite game is tag!
