It's really hard to know what to say about this memoir. First of all, it's written by an ex-drag-queen (who was a knock-out as 'Aqua') and he is not at all skimpy with the details. So, if you're one of those people who take out the movie Brokeback Mountain and then complain loudly that it's godless and had you known it was about gays you never would have borrowed it and they're all going to hell and should be banned to a small island someplace, then do yourselves a favor and don't read this book. However, if you are broadminded and find the human condition fascinating, love an interesting writer and aren't frightened of reading about drugs and drunks and late nights, then this book is highly recommended.

A great read, and a little scary. Great pre-read to the Buccolic Plague.

This memoir is incredibly addictive and so beautifully realized that whenever I put it down, I felt like I was hung over from a night of vodka or coming down from a crack high.

Not a novel for the faint of heart, but fascinating and new look at New York and the life of a drag queen. Josh and Aqua's life is certainly populated with unique characters and heart-racing moments and I'm certainly changed for having read about it.
