Not too bad, but not that good either. Faith-based but not over-the-top preachy. Some attempts are made to show that there was good and bad on all sides of the conflicts, so kudos to the film makers for that. Most of the acting was just average. A few parts had some beautiful scenery. It was partially filmed in a National Park (in Virginia, I think). Had the feel of a Hallmark-like made-for-TV movie from the mid 80's, although it was released (and made?) in 2013. Incidentally, the main song (same title as the movie) was nominated for an Oscar, but the nomination was rescinded because of an attempt by the songwriter to influence the votes of 239 Academy members.

A story that shows the adaptation of captives to a new way of life while retaining their longing for freedom and their families. Not a deep study of captivity, but well-done considering the time constraints. The emotions come through loud and clear.

This is such a touching and beautiful film that show the courage of the pioneering people. What makes it even more real is the fact that it is a true story. Also the main song is sung by Joni Eareckson Tada and it is lovely to listen to at the end.
