I enjoyed this ride of an orphan and her friend who find out the outside world can be exciting as well as disappointing. The hypnotism aspect is taken a little far, but this is a kid's fantasy after all. The writing is a bit sophomoric, and Dominic Monaghan's role is just dumb, but adds a comedic touch. Petula, the black pug though, stars in every scene she's in!
