Maureen Dowd's incendiary takes and takedowns from 2016--the most bizarre, disruptive and divisive Presidential race in modern history.

Trapped between two candidates with the highest recorded unfavorables, Americans are plunged into The Year of Voting Dangerously. In this perilous and shocking campaign season, The New York Times columnist traces the psychologies and pathologies in one of the nastiest and most significant battles of the sexes ever. Dowd has covered Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton since the '90s. She was with the real estate mogul when he shyly approached his first Presidential rope line in 1999, and she won a Pulitzer prize that same year for her penetrating columns on the Clinton impeachment follies. Like her bestsellers, Bushworld and Are Men Necessary?, THE YEAR OF VOTING DANGEROUSLY will feature Dowd's trademark cocktail of wry humor and acerbic analysis in dispatches from the political madhouse. If America is on the escalator to hell, then THE YEAR OF VOTING DANGEROUSLY is the perfect guide for this surreal, insane ride.

Hodgepodge of old pre-election articles. High-school-girl prose. Misstates facts, misuses words, mishandles French, misascribes references. Flubs borrowed jokes, spoiling the punchline.
--- Backs social Liberal Hillary, but resents her dishonesty, greed, war-making, and feminist sense of entitlement. Hates Republicans for attacking Hillary, but joins attack herself. Denounces Hillary's "teat-sucking". States estimate that Wall Street firms had given over $100 million to/for the Clintons.
--- Deplores Bill's womanizing and Dem double-standard. Feminists lashed Clarence Thomas over doubtful tale, but defended Bill and disparaged his "bimbos". Dems blame Trump's jokes about women, yet Gloria Steinem said Monica affair OK. And Dowd herself approves attacks on Sarah Palin.
--- Feels bound to oppose Trump, a retrograde bigot, but likes his openness, worker-outreach, and defeat of Republican Establishment. Loathes the Bushes, yet (amazingly) believes Bush Jr was conned into invading Iraq by advisors.
--- Upholds gays/Blacks/females though despises some individuals. Condemns group labeling, but calls Republicans "Neanderthals". Resents straight White males even when she agrees with them. Calls the Benghazi probe a witchhunt, but adopts its findings.
--- Includes article by Kevin Dowd. He said voters were fed up with political correctness, America is sinking in government regulation, Europe is swamped by Muslim refugees, illegal hordes threaten our economy, and Dems pander to every Liberal whim amid $19 trillion of debt. He noted that Trump attended a police rally while Obama was busy micromanaging school restrooms.
--- Maureen Dowd seems to feel guilty for knocking Hillary, as if trying to explain it to Liberal friends -- who, she says, will not tolerate any deviation.

Seriously, if we all got on the same page and wrote in Bruce Campbell on the 2016 presidential election ballots, he would be our next prez - - and with a guy like that playing the president, we couldn't go wrong! ! !
[A second choice might be Alec Baldwin playing Donald Trump, as long as Alec doesn't allow any of his wacky brothers into the White House].
No sane person would ever vote for a Clinton, Bush or Trump! [Disclaimer: I am still proud that I tutored Dowd at Nativity.]
Also, Charlie Sheen would be an amazing VP, and could double as the White House social activities director?!
