A really great book about the history of the getting to the polio vaccine. An enlightening story about the motivations of the key players and the fears of the public. Reads like a novel.

Would have liked some more detail on virus preparation and risks, and the impact of polio and the program to vaccinate on less advantaged populations.

Interesting history of the polio vaccine. Much of the book surrounded the various researchers and their methods and egos. Having finished it, I now want to know what causes it? Why did it predominately affect young children? Why did polio season occur in the summer?
