Yes! Yes! Yes! I love this beautiful book. It reads like a sexist fifties-era "beauty guide" but the pictures of these empowered girls show otherwise. Strongly recommended.

Excellent book that tells it's story through the seeming incongruity between the words and the pictures. This would make a great discussion starter about how everyone is different and those differences should be celebrated and not feared.

If you're looking for something to balance out princess books, look no further. Beautiful shows through clever example that we should all look beyond the stereotypes for little girls and appreciate their individual style. Beautiful girls move gracefully - while competing in sports; beautiful girls like to look in the mirror - while making faces in funhouse mirrors; and beautiful girls know all about make-up - while dressing up as pirates. Fun illustrations and great diversity.
