Sort of the Sci-fi version of Lost-the writers never seemed to decide where the story was going. Decent cast and story idea poorly executed. Please bring back Firefly or something as good!

"The Expanse" has an accumulating gravity. It takes a technical plausibility seriously with quality effects assisting the plot, not abusing it in flamboyant scene-stealing. The actors are well chosen for their roles, adding to a believability that's difficult to pull-off in this genre.
For it's first season, so far, this is an engaging, suspenseful Sci-Fi story, well detailed in it's telling.

Because of the good ratings we kept watching and hoping, but we just couldn't get into it. Maybe it's because we didn't care about any of the characters. Just felt like some continuous chase without going anywhere. Cancelled our hold on season 2 - Can't justify wasting the time to continue when there are much better sci-fi shows/movies to watch.

A pleasant surprise coming from SyFy! The show presents a realistic world, and convincing characters... meaning they make decisions that feel like something a person would do, not simply zigging left at the whim of the writers to push the story in the direction they want it to go. I'm excited to see where season two takes us.

Maybe I was expecting too much but after 3 episodes I didnt care about anyone, was tired of the back and forth feel of the story, and felt it no worthy of 12 hours of my time.

Saw this streamed through Amazon and was pleasantly surprised by it, as SyFy programs are so often terrible. This is a noir detective/hard SF hybrid. The characters are mostly interesting, only one actor seemed weak to me, the production values are good, and there's enough mystery that you keep wanting to come back for more. Enough exploding stuff/gun battles for people who watch for that, but enough world-building, political intrigue, and flawed characters for people who watch such series for that. Not much soap-opera romance stuff, which is my preference. Diverse cast.

200 years in the future- Humans have divided (Earthlings, Martians, and Roamers) ...Three stories come together in search for a missing women- tied into something that presents itself as a new life form. The presentation of future earth is overly optimistic. Drones look like they do today, Earth is riddled with litter- the sea level has slightly risen...obviously noticeable within the series. Cool medical healing techniques, Universal GIS at your finger tips- Nice touch(NPI)! Would like to see the next season to see where it goes
