I missed any reference to "rufus" to explain the title. Other than feeling confused at first because I'd finished 'The Night Wanderer' recently and wondered if I'd picked up an earlier story or if I'd just read this story, the plot did settle down and make clear that 'The Rufus Spy' did in fact follow 'The Night Wanderer.'
