Adaptation of Tom Perrotta's novel about life in a small town after many of its residents vanished in a Rapture-like event. In the third season, the Garvey and Murphy families come together as they desperately grasp for a system of belief to better explain what defies explanation. The world is crackling with the energy of something big about to happen, a corresponding bookend to the Sudden Departure that sent them all spinning years earlier, bringing their journey Down Under.

To some this season up. It was stupid, boring, unrealistic, it didn't answer anything, it was more confusing then entertaining, and I'm glad I didn't waste money on seeing this show.

This last season was clearly a mandate from the producers to wrap up a story line which plot necessarily hinges on everyone's struggle in the aftermath of the Departure, not the actual facts surrounding the Departure (what it is, who caused it, etc). But I'm in the minority, since most out there want to know what happened even if the story isn't about that.

This season also had some pretty kooky episodes with all kinds of crazy stuff happening, but ultimately they were disconnected and only created to get a rise out of the viewer. Sadly, this season completely lost the series' unity of theme and action, and it used silly flashbacks as if to say, "See? We're connecting things." Different writers. Different director. You decide. I still enjoyed watching the characters slog through their lives, but I found myself more annoyed than satisfied.

After watching all 3 seasons, we were very disappointed in the ending. Confusing. What the heck were they trying to say? Or maybe they were trying to say too many things and it all got lost? We feel like we got robbed of all the time we spent watching.
