Twin Peaks has transcended anything else on TV. This is more than episodic serial television, it is a visionary masterpiece in post-modern surrealism. David Lynch and Mark Frost, against all expectations, took Twin Peaks to another level. And fans of the original series are left to ask themselves..."Is this the story of the little girl who lived down the lane? Is it?"

Maybe some other day. I watched disc one and that's enough for now. I recognize some characters from the original, but it's not helping me comprehend anything! Good luck to the next guy on the waiting list :)

A must-see for Twin Peaks fans, in classic Lynch style, with most of the original cast returning - most to continue the story, and some just to see what happened to them. However, 18 episodes is perhaps a bit too many, as there are many drawn-out sequences that could have been trimmed - many long shots of people walking and driving when nothing happens (not a tight script). Also, there are several scenes that are just too dark (using realistic lighting) such that you cannot tell what is going on and thus miss subtle points. on the upside, there are a variety of bands appearing at the Bang bang Bar (the Roadhouse) to fit the mood of the episode. Story - good, technical - could have been better.

For the series- I watched it as it aired, and it was great. It is not a continuation, or even really a reboot... it’s an evolution. I can’t imagine that someone who hasn’t seen the old episodes would jump in at the start of this and enjoy it, however. I found my appreciation for this series expanded greatly upon a second viewing, and now I view this series as a masterpiece.
What an unexpected, terribly beautiful experience.

I didn't enjoy it as much as the original series. New characters are fun to watch, though.

Definitely quirkier than the original Twin Peaks series, with much of the action taking place in South Dakota and Nevada. It is a wild ride from start to finish with moments of humour intermixed with the surrealism that is typical of a David Lynch production. It is bizarre and captivating all at the same time and has an ending that will truly shock the viewer.
