Aspiring artist Abby decides that in order to give her art "more heart" she will complete a list of tasks over the summer, ranging from facing a fear to falling in love, but she soon finds the list more difficult than she imagined.
Abby Turner has an unrequited crush on her best friend, Cooper; she hasn't been able to manage her mother's growing issues with anxiety, and she's been rejected from an art show because her work "has no heart." When she gets another opportunity to show her paintings, Abby decides she can't change her art if she isn't willing to change herself. She makes a list of ten things, ranging from "face a fear" to "fall in love." She knows that if she can complete the list, she'll become the kind of artist she's always dreamed of being.
